TYPE 2 DIABETES GROUP EXERCISE

Exercise and lifestyle change are primary treatment Interventions for type 2 diabetes. Exercise has significant effects in the short and long term management of the condition.

This group is suitable for anyone with type 2 diabetes, as well as anyone with type 1 diabetes or pre diabetic.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are the leading profession in regards to exercise prescription. They specialise in the prescription and delivery of exercise for the management and prevention of chronic diseases and injuries.

Our AEPs at UPR have a minimum 4 year university degree, including a postgraduate qualification and further Type 2 Diabetes training.

Delivered by Accredited Exercise Physiologists

All sessions are led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, ensuring a high standard of clinical, evidence-based care. Each program is tailored to your individual needs, with a focus on safe, effective exercise to support your health and long-term outcomes.

Personalised Program & Ongoing Support

You’ll receive an individualised exercise program, including a home plan with a theraband and UPR T2D Booklet to support your progress outside the clinic. Our small group setting provides ongoing guidance, accountability, and progression as your strength and confidence improve.

Assessment, Planning & Medicare Support

Before commencing group sessions, you’ll complete a comprehensive 1:1 assessment, including a detailed medical history and movement screening. This initial consultation, along with up to eight group sessions, may be subsidised under Medicare (where eligible), helping to make your care more accessible.
